Learning About the Manassas Campaign
With the First Bull Run website, viewers can learn about all the organizations involved in the Manassas Campaign, Virginia, that took place between July 16 to July 22, 1861. But what should be noted though is that not all of these details are so 100% complete because there is continuing research which is a process that could take many years. This site can also be used to present questions and queries about any of the companies or regiments.
Research for the site began over 15 years ago, following the creator’s reading of an article published in Military Modelling by Paul Stevenson entitled ‘Sunday Picnic Uniforms.’ He was inspired by the vast array of gray uniforms spanning 8th, 11th, and 14th NY State Militia as well as the blue of 33rd Virginia Infantry and more.
